The POWER of PRAYER (EN)

Thinking about it with deeper understanding, I hadn’t prayed this much in a few months. I feel that God needed this to happen in order for many people to turn to him. We needed this alone time to process everything that is going on around us. I needed this time to really turn my focus to him, I needed this time to start praying like I used to.

With everything that we had going on back in our “normal” lives, we lost track of someone important. I think we, myself included, have forgotten what truly matters. My mom, being a woman of prayer, has always encouraged us to seek God. One of her favorite verses is Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” I hear this verse at least 2-3 times a day:) But Grace, what kind of things will be given to us, well everything from health to financial wellness to food.

I have been blessed with many of my prayers being answered. A couple of years ago, my cousin was diagnosed with cancer. My family, my church, and myself prayed non stop for a miracle to happen. There were times where hope was a little further away than most times. Yet, we hoped for a miracle. It did, now she is a healthy 11 year old, who loves to cook, braid people’s hair, but most importantly she is a girl who loves God. Miracles happen, all it takes is hope and prayer.

Remember that even though we don’t see him, he is working. He will always be in control, even if you don’t feel him. Who are we to question his plans, but keep this in mind, EVERYTHING WORKS FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM. (Romans 4:20)

Due to everything that has been happening with this COVID pandemic, PRAYER is the answer to your problems. Yesterday we found out that my uncle had been taken to the hospital, that’s when it hit me harder. We went into my parent’s room and prayed for a miracle, while praying I couldn't stop crying. I cried for my uncle, I cried for all the people battling with COVID, I prayed FOR THIS TO STOP. (Please help me pray for my uncle as well as for everyone battling COVID)

This COVID-19 pandemic has really gotten out of control. I just want to tell everyone to take the proper precautions. Yes, God does promise protection and health, but we also need to follow instructions and laws that our authorities have put into play. Romans 13:1 says, “ Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.”

God tells us to pray for any reason and for his people. Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Sometimes all you need is for some time alone with God. It’s happened to me where I'm feeling weak and stressed, and after I pray, I find strength and peace. God tells us to pray when we need a miracle, when we need help, when we need to confess our sins, and when we need peace. (If you need someone to pray for anything, send me a message or an email.)

God doesn’t want a rehearsed prayer, he wants YOUR prayer. If your prayer is just tears, then he wants that too. Just tell him how you feel, what you think about everything. He wants your broken prayer, not a perfect prayer!

Don’t forget to smile,

Grace.
